Deep Tissue Massage

Similar to the relaxation massage deep tissue massage therapy targets the deeper muscles and fascia  causing a release of the build up of toxins/ lactic acid, adhesions and even scar tissue.  Inflammation maybe caused to enable lymph movement and increased blood flow.  We offer deep massage as an add on to other massage modalities.

Sports Massage

Sports massage works directly with muscles that correlate with your specific sport or activities. A sports massage session involves deeper muscle work, passive and/or active stretching, myofascial and trigger point release, as well as muscle toning and stripping. Tools might also be added to aid in the process of toxic release, such as cups, stones or scraping tools.  It uses various techniques to decrease muscle pain and improve recovery, as well as improve overall range of motion and flexibility to support safe and effective movement.

Prenatal Massage

Let us relieve some of those uncomfortable symptoms that come along with pregnancy including round ligament pain, back/neck stiffness, swelling of the extremities, muscle and body aches. Massage will also help improve hormonal symptoms such as depression, anxiety, stress and so much more.  *must be at least 6 weeks pregnant*

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Also known as lymphatic drainage massage, is a gentle form of massage used to relieve painful swelling in your arms and legs caused by lymphedema. Lymphedema often affects people recovering from surgery.  Lymphedema happens when your tissues retain fluid left behind after your cardiovascular system sends blood to your tissues and organs.  The remaining fluid is called lymph. Normally, your lymphatic system collects your lymph and returns it to your heart via a network of lymph vessels and lymph nodes. When something disrupts your lymphatic system's process, lymph collects in your arms and legs, making them swell. A massage therapist uses lymphatic drainage massage techniques to move lymph from your tissues to your lymph nodes, which eases the swelling in your tissues. Also used to treat scar tissue, sinus and nasal congestion, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic venous inefficiency, lipedema, reduce cellulite and increase muscle tone. The treatment is very gentle and can be administered over the clothing or just on the surface of the skin. *Call Nicole to schedule consult*

Pediatric Massage(Including tweens, preteens and teenagers!)

Massage is proven to increase dopamine (the feel good hormone) and decrease cortisol (the stress hormone). This helps regulate anxiety and stress levels that can become imbalanced due to social, family and academic pressures. Massage helps decrease muscle tension and increase range of motion, which assists in recovering from, or preventing, injuries. Massage can improve quality of sleep, provide more energy and increase concentration.

Auricular therapyand Ear Seeding

Auricular Therapy (Ear Point Therapy) is a form of acupressure where the external surface of your ear—or auricle—is stimulated to alleviate pain or promote healing in different parts of your body.  By adding seeds to some of the points where Auricular Therapy is performed we can invoke longer lasting relief of the issue being treated.  Traditionally, seeds from the Vaccaria plant are taped onto specific acupuncture points on the ear. Sometimes, people use "seeds" in a variety of different materials, such as stainless steel, gold, silver, or even magnets in some cases, Ear seeding is based on the belief that your entire body and its systems (nervous, reproductive, digestive, etc.) are represented in your ear. We offer Ear Point as an add on to other massage modalities.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a practice that involves applying different amounts of pressure to specific points on the feet or hands to treat areas of dysfunction in certain organs or other parts of the body.  Reflexology is based on the theory that all areas of the body correspond with and can be mapped onto areas of the hands, feet and ears (see auricular therapy).

Buccal Massage

Buccal massage (also called intraoral massage) involves massaging pressure points inside the mouth to stimulate the muscles and ligaments in the buccal fat pad (between the cheeks and the jowls) to tighten and contour the area. When done regularly, this procedure can provide similar results to those of dermal fillers, but without the needles and potential side effects. The treatment typically involves massage of other facial areas as well.

When facial muscles stiffen due to stress, injury, an overactive jaw, or a medical disorder, they obstruct blood flow, lymphatic circulation, and detoxication. Tissues don't receive enough nutrients and oxygen, resulting in water retention, puffiness, a dull complexion, and drooping cheeks and jowls. Buccal massage resolves these issues, providing numerous skin benefits.

Distance Reiki

Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique used for stress reduction and relaxation and has been shown to have several benefits for both physical and mental health. It is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that involves the practitioner gently placing their hands on or near the body. Distant Reiki can be performed and received almost  anywhere, which makes it possible to get a treatment without ever leaving your home. Distance Reiki can be just as effective as experiencing an in person treatment. Reiki energy "works" regardless of where you are located since it transcends time and physical space.   Distance Reiki works according to an ancient principle called the Hermetic Law of Similarity, which holds that we are all connected, as we are all made of energy and part of a larger whole. Invoking this law during a distance Reiki session allows the practitioner to link up to the energy field of the recipient.

Hot Stone Massage

A hot stone massage is a type of massage in which the massage therapist places smooth, hot stones on your back. These stones provide heat therapy to the muscles, which can help reduce tension and pain. The stones used in hot stone massage are typically basalt, volcanic rock that is usually high in iron, which allows them to absorb heat. We offer Hot Stone massage as an add on to other massage modalities.

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine where a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. The idea is to draw blood to or away from parts of your body. People get it for many reasons, such as pain and inflammation relief, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.  We offer cupping as an add on to other massage modalities.

Aromatherapy Massage

One of the most popular treatments on our menu, aromatherapy massage combines the power of essential oils with massage therapy, benefitting both the mind and the body. During an aromatherapy massage, fragrant essential oils are applied to the skin using a carrier oil such as jojoba, sweet almond or grapeseed. Essential oils are plant-based oils which are extracted from herbs, trees and flowers, and each oil has its own unique properties which provide therapeutic benefits.

Essential oils penetrate your body as they are absorbed through your skin. These essential oils impart benefits to both your mind and your body, including improving your mood, alleviating pain and detoxifying your body, depending on the oils used. We offer aromatherapy as a complementary add on to other massage modalities.
